YANGON TO MAWLAMYINE CYCLING TOUR (2 Days)


Day 1 : Arrival to Yangon – Sightseeing  (with Car )

 

Arrive at Yangon International Airport. We prefer with morning flight. Welcome to Yangon- the former capital and the largest city of Burma. You will be welcome at the airport by our tour guide before transferred to the hotel for check-in. For the first time in the cultural and historical center of Burma, on the way we will have a city tour with some prominent Buddhist relics including Swe Taw Myat Zedi where you can see the copy of Buddha Tooth and Kaba Aye Pagoda which is also known as the World Peace Pagoda. Afterward, head to nearby Mahapasana Guha. Check in hotel and relax for a while at the hotel.

 

After that sightseeing to down town City Center so that you can take a walk colonial style building and meet local people. Downtown Area with the Old City Hall and take a stroll along Colonial Buildings ending at the old Strand Hotel, the adjacent Australian Embassy, Her Majesty British Embassy, and Red-bricked General Post Office. Late afternoon visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda of Rudyard Kipling fame and one of Myanmar’s most sacred places. The massive bell shaped stupa is plated with gold and the tip of the stupa is set with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and topaz – a stunning sight as the sun sets and a most fitting place to begin our trip in this “GoldenLand”. Dinner at a local restaurant and back to hotel.

Day 2: Yangon – Mawlamying  (with car, bike)

 

Our cycling guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in the morning at 7:30 am. Then we will take a trip to Mawlamying, known as Molmein in the British times, is the 3rd largest city in Myanmar and situated in the south-east of Myanmar. It is about 6 to 7 hours to go by car. To arrange the cycling tour (with Mountain Bikes!!!).

 

First of all, we will drive to Bago which about 80km far away from Yangon. Then start cycling to Mawlamyine. Lunch at a local restaurant. And then, continue cycling to Mawlamyine. According to the time we will take some part with the car to reach hotel in the evening. Evening arrive at Mawlamyine. Check in hotel and rest for a while. And then dinner at a local restaurant.

 

Overnight at Mawlamying. Our mentioned total cycling distance is just standard and if you prefer more kilometer or less kilometer cycling every day you can talk & negotiate with our cycling guide. (cycling distance-50-75km, normally flat roat)

Day 3: Mawlamying Cycling to Belu Island-Mawlamyine  (with boat, bike)

 

After breakfast, cycling to Jetty from your hotel, just a few minutes. Then take a ferry boat approximately 45 minutes to the jetty of Bilu Island or Ogre Island (you won’t meet Ogres there!!). Once you disembark, you mount the bike and you will be meeting firstly with the old Chevrolet at the jetty that still serve for transportation. some activities on the island during the Mountain bike cycling excursion;

 

After excursion making a loop on the island, you can see the local ways of life and nature of village life, and you can learn how to earn their living. You can enjoy beautiful natural scenic. Belu Island have over 84 villages and All environs maintain natural ways of life. Lunch at a local restaurant. you will be back at the same jetty to transfer the same way back to Mawlamying. Take rest at the hotel. Evening take a walk to Strand Road and enjoy night life.

Day 4: Mawlamying Cycling to U Na Oak Village-Hpaan  (with car, bike)

 

Today cycling tour will take you to the most beautiful (but few people know it, indeed!!!) Monastery Complex built and donated by the Colonial-Era Burmese Merchant, called U Na Oak. To reach the village, you will have to cross by the bridge over two rivers called Gyaing and Attran rivers. It is their rule effective so far today that you can’t cross the bridges by bicycle and therefore, you need to load the bikes on the accompanying Sag Wagon. Then unload after crossing the bridge for continuing the cycling tour.

 

You may visit Pomelo Orchards on the way to Kado Village where you will see the best Glass Mosaic decorations and Teak Wooden Buddha Images. The monastery is donated by a Myanmar Well-Known Teak Merchant, U Na Oak. We used to learn about his patriotic battle in terms of inland water transport business against the then Irrawaddy Floatilla Company in the British times. Walk around the monastery complex, take the pictures of the amazing wood-carvings decorated on the inner walls of the monastic buildings. Sometimes, you will see the European pillar pedestals at some of the buildings. Then, continue cycling to Pha-an, the capital city of Kayin State, one of the ethnic majority, is worth a lot. Surrounding the city are the Natural Lime-stone Caves, Hot Springs, Pagodas & Temples, the Thanlwin(Salween River) with Natural beauty with Clear Water for a pleasant boat trip, and many more. Visit Saddan cave. Lunch at local restaurant.

 

Late afternoon arrives at Hpaan. Check in hotel and take rest at the hotel for a while. Evening before dinner take a tour to down town and enjoy dinner. Overnight at the hotel in Hpaan.

(Cycling distance -50-75km, with rolling flat road and quiet country road)

 

Day 5: Cycling from Pha-an- KawKun Cave- Mudon-Yangon (with car, bike)

 

After breakfast, cycling from Pha-An to Yangon. On the way, visit the Kawkun Cave which have many Buddha statues on the wall since 13 century AD. And then continue cycling to Mudon. Lunch at a local restaurant. After that drive back direct to Yangon. If time available, we will visit to Bago. Evening arrive at Yangon. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Yangon Departure 

 

Free and easy before your departure flight time. Then transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure.
