From Mandalay to Bagan by Bicycle (8 Days)

Yangon – Mandalay – Meiktila – Mt. Popa – Bagan – Yangon

8 Days – 7 Nights

Day 01:  Yangon Arrival

Arrive in Yangon where you will be welcomed by your local tour guide and transferred to your hotel. Late afternoon, you will visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda of Rudyard Kipling fame and one of Myanmar’s most sacred places. The massive bell shaped stupa is plated with gold and the tip of the stupa is set with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and topaz – a stunning sight as the sun sets and a most fitting place to begin our trip in this “Golden Land”.

Day 02: Yangon – Mandalay Sightseeing

First day pick up from hotel and transfer to airport to fly Mandalay. Arrive at Mandalay Airport pick up and transfer to hotel.  We will have a short city tour after the hotel procedures. Teak temple Shwenandaw and Kuthodaw Pagoda with the massive marble slabs will be recommended. Besides, you can enjoy the fresh air of the city by visit the surrounding moat.

Day 03: Mandalay – Amarapura – Mandalay

In the morning, we will cycle to Amarapura and visit Mingun where you can see the great Mingun Bell and the wonderful Irrawaddy River. When coming back, we will visit Mahamuni Pagoda and Mandalay Hill – the attractive places that you can’t miss when in Mandalay.

Day 04: Mandalay – Meiktila

Today we will take the bike riding along the way to Meikhtila. Then a car will take us to Meiktila to relax and enjoy the view. Stay overnight at Meiktila

Biking distance: 90 km

Day 05: Meiktila – Popa

A morning ride will take us to Mt. Popa – a volcanic mountain near Bagan. When arrive, you will have great chances to enjoy the views of mountains, forest, animal and the life of locals.

Stay overnight at Popa Mountain Resort.

Biking distance: 80 km

Day 06: Popa – Bagan

In the morning, we will visit the shrine on the top of Mt Popa and enjoy the spectacular view of Popa. After being satisfy with the mountain scenes, we will move to Bagan and explore the heaven of temples and stupas. Stay overnight in Bagan.

Biking distance: 45 km

Day 07: Bagan

Prepare to be astounded by Bagan, a grassy plain scattered with pagodas. A full day of cycling will take you to the city’s most fascinating sites, including the teeming Nyaung Oo Market, the glittering Shwezigon Pagoda, and the atmospheric cave temple of Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi. In the afternoon, you’ll peek into a traditional workshop to. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

Day 08: Bagan – Yangon Sightseeing & Departure (by private air con car with English Speaking Guide) (B)

After breakfast transfer to Airport to fly back Yangon, you will visit Scott Market, Bogyoke Market, which sells many Myanmar Traditional Handicrafts, namely, Pan Sai Myo, 10 kinds of flowers; Blacksmith, Goldsmith, Coppersmith, Stone Carvings, Wood Carvings, Lacquer Wares, and so on (Scott Market is off every Monday!). Evening transfer to airport for International departure.
