Trekking Tour

Tour Program Name : Northern Trekking Tour
Duration : 13 Days / 12 Nights
Availability : Putao - Mt. Phongun Razi - Putao - Yangon

Day 1: Yangon arrival

Meet on arrival at Yangon International Airport by Exotic Myanmar guide. Transfer to hotel for check in. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit to Bogyoke Aung San Market, formerly known as Scott market. Evening visit to Shwedagon Pagoda - 2500 years old world famous stupa. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight Yangon.

 


Day 2: Yangon - Putao - Shangaung village

Pick up at the hotel and transfer to airport for Putao flight in the morning. It takes about 3 hours to reach Putao. Have lunch in Putao and proceed to Shangaung village by car. Stay at village house. It lies at the foot of the Shangaung range and is the biggest village on this way.

Day 3: Shangaung Village - Warsamdam village

After breakfast, start trekking and have to climb over the forest-covered mountain range, named Shangaung Range (about 5000 ft) about 7 hours. On the way, one could see Pheasant, butterflies, birds and primary forest. The other side of the range is another village Warsamdam, a small village that has only 10 houses, next to the beautiful stream. Stay at the village house.

Day 4: Warsamdam village - Zeyardam village

The distance between Warsamdam and Zeyardam village is about 17 km, trekking takes about 5 hours. Walk along the riverbank and cross one suspension bridge. On the way, one can study their cultivation of Mustard, wheat and rice. Zeyardam village is the last village on the way to Phongun Razi. The village is at the height of 3000 ft. and another small stream passes by the village. This village has about 20 houses and surrounded by very deep forests and snow-capped mountains. Stay at the village house.

Day 5: Zeyardam village - River junction camp - Thit Pin Gyi Camp

Trekking by the route along Nat Lan creek to reach River Junction camp which takes about 3 hours. After reaching River junction camp, cross small bamboo bridge and climb up the hill about 3 hours to reach Thit Pin Gyi Camp (about 6000 ft above sea level). The vegetation covers 75% of the dump forest in this area. One could study bamboo, rattan, creeper and orchid. Also the sound of gibbons and birds will recreate your energy. Overnight at Thit Pin Gyi camp, accommodation in a tent.

Day 6: Thit Pin Gyi Camp - Khant Tauk Camp - Snow line Camp

Trekking uphill and downhill for 9 hours through sub-alpine forest. This camp lies about 10,000 ft above sea level. The temperature in this region can drop below zero. Edequate warm clothing is necessary. One can view blood Pheasant, Tragopan and gray peacock pheasant.

Day 7: Snow line Camp - Mountain Peak - Snow line Camp

It will take at least 3 to 4 hours to get to the Peak (11,500 ft). Duration of climbing time will vary depending on the weather condition and the depth of the snow. If the weather is fine, you will see the scenic beauty of the snow-capped mountain range from the Peak. Return to last camp and overnight at the last camp.

Day 8: Snow line Camp - Khant Tauk - Thit Pin Gyi - River Junction Camp

Return trip. Lunch break at Thit Pin Gyi camp. Continue trekking to River Junction Camp. Overnight at River Junction camp.

Day 9: River Junction - Warsamdam village

After breakfast, go back to Zeyardam village and proceed to Warsamdam village. Overnight Warsamdam village.

Day 10: Warsamdam village -Shangaung village

After breakfast, climb the mountain range and go down to get to the village. Have lunch on the way and overnight Shangaung village.

Day 11: Shangaung village - Putao

After breakfast, go back to Putao and have lunch at local restaurant. Free and easy program in the afternoon. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight Putao.

Day 12: Putao - Yangon

Breakfast in the hotel. Morning transfer to Putao airport by local bus and back to Yangon by domestic flight. Transfer to hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight Yangon.

Day 13: Yangon departure

Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to airport for international departure.
Best time to travel: November - April
