Putao - Situate 1498 feet (455 meters) above sea located far north of Myanmar in Kachin State is famous for Myanmar snow capped mountains descendent from eastern Himalayan region. The local tribe who live in this area are of Tibetan extraction of Rawan, Lisu, Tai Hkamti, include last remaining member of the Tarong tribe.

Namkham - A large Rawan tribe village, situate at the bottom of Namhti mountain range, rich with biodiversity of flora and fauna. Namkham is also famous for its production of Great fruit, Washington fruit, King fruit etc.
Machanbaw - A small administrative town, beautifully set up with colonial style, connected by 211 meter long Malikha suspension bridge.
Mulashidi - 13 km away from Putao, a beautiful settlement next to famous Mulashidi suspension bridge.

The Rawan Trail

Tue –Day 01 Arrival,Putao

Upon arrival at Putao airport you will be met by one of our resident representatives and transferred to your guest house. If time permit we shall take a walk to near by local villages. Dinner will be at local restaurant or at your hotel. We shall have a group meeting, introducing among the group members, with local staff and briefing about the trek prior to dinner. Overnight will be at Putao Trekking House.(basic standard facilities such as proper sleeping facility, warm water and western toilet will be provided)


Wed - Day 02 Putao - Htawadum - Namkham (jeep/trek)

Breakfast and we visit attractive Putao market often fills with local tribal such as Rawan, Lisu etc. Then depart by jeep through the pebbled road for Htawadum (14 km, approx 1 hour). Here we cross the Malikha river by small boat to Salundum Rawan village, visit the village and continue walk to Namkham along the Malikha river passing through smaller villages such as Khan Cho, Htawadum and Manchu etc (4 km, approx 2 hour). Namkham is a large Rawan tribe village with over 240 houses and situates at the bottom of Namhti mountain range which in rich with biodiversity of flora and fauna, famous for its production of Great fruit, Washington fruit and King fruit etc. We settle in at our guesthouse and have lunch. Afternoon visit this attractive Rawan settlement village. We have our dinner and overnight at local guesthouse (foam mattress, blanket and pillow will be provided).

Thu - Day 03 Namkham - Machanbaw - Mulashidi - Putao (trek/jeep)

Breakfast and we start trek to Machanbaw (9 km, approx 3 hour) through
relatively low land terrain with occasionally ups and downs passing through some smaller villages such as Inwaingbaw and Inbubaw. Machanbaw is a small administrative town ex-Putao with beautifully set up colonial style town. Here we visit so-called "Stone Dragon" park and walk through the town and to the river side and cross a suspension bridge span across Malikha river to Naungkan village where our jeep awaits us and take us to Mulashidi Lisu village (35 km, approx 1 hour). Visit the attractive village and suspension bridge across Mula river. We have packed lunch at Mulashidi and enjoy beautiful surrounding often back drop with snow capped mountains in distance. We return back to Putao and check in at guest house. We shall have a farewell dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Putao Trekking House.

Fri - Day 04 Departure

Breakfast and transfer to airport, good bye to our team as you board on our onwards departure flight to conclude this unique experience.
