Nam Htu Koo:
A large Lisu tribe village with about 250 houses, Nam Htu Koo village is situate 20 km west of Putao on the cross road to blazing 11530 feet (3515 meters) high Mt. Lancrumadin, one of the prominent mountains is the area is a perfect overnight trek from Putao. Agriculture is of main source of living thus Nam
Htu Koo has a large plain of rice field fill with much of activities especially during the harvest Nov/Dec which should not be missed.

The Lisu Trail

Day 01 Arrival Putao

Upon arrival at Putao airport you will be met by one of our resident representatives and transferred to your guest house. After a brief fresh up we shall walk to the near by local restaurant. In the afternoon we will take a walk to near by Majaw Lisu village about 2 hour through the paddy field. This village is beautiful having backdrop Mt. Slimatdin with blazing snow over the horizon during sunset. Dinner will be at local restaurant or at your hotel. We shall have a group meeting, introducing among the group members, with local staff and briefing about the trek prior to dinner. Overnight will be at Putao Trekking House.
(basic standard facilities such as proper sleeping facility, warm water and western toilet will be provided)

Day 02 Putao - Nam Htu Koo (trek)

Breakfast and we trek to Nam Htu Koo Lisu village situates about 20 km west of Putao. First we walk through cultivation field passing some small villages and farm land. After about one hour walking on the flat land we are immediately in to wildness with lush tropical evergreen forests. About 3 hours trek through the terrain up hill we reach approx 2300 feet (700 meters) shoulder of Nam Htu Khoo mountain range from where road descends all the way. Here we see the vest valley filled with cultivation land. Far west we will see blazing 11530 feet (3495 meters) high Lancrumadin Mountain towards Indian border. We have pack lunch and continue trek another one more hour through the farm to the village. We check in at our designated home and walk to the creek to fresh up. This creek is usually busy during the late afternoon by local on their return home from field thus we shall have a great opportunity for social interaction with locals. Home cook dinner and overnight will be at a designated guesthouse with local style central fire place. (mattress, blanket and pillow will be provided)

Day 03 Nam Htu Koo - Mulashidi - Putao (trek/jeep)

Breakfast and we visit around the village for social and cultural interaction. Say good bye to village and walk about 45 minutes through the field along Nam Htu Koo creek crossing the creek a couple of time. Once we get in to the wildness the terrain become deep up which leads up to approx 2295 feet (700 meters). We trek about 2 hour through quite strenuous jungle trail in dense forest filled with bamboo grove. The trek then gradually descend through farm land from where enjoy a spectacular view of the Putao plain with snake like crawling Mula creek. About 2 hours easy trek we finally arrive at Mulashidi village. Here we have our lunch and relax by the Mula creek. Later join our jeep and return to Putao. We shall have a farewell dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Putao Trekking House.

Day 04 Putao Machanbaw - Putao (jeep)

Breakfast and we visit attractive Putao market often fills with local tribal such as Rawan, Lisu Kachin etc. Further excursion by jeep to Machanbaw (20 km, approx one hour). Machanbaw is a small administrative town ex-Putao with beautifully set up colonial style town. We arrive at Naungkan village and walk through by a small suspension bridge span across Malikha river to Machanbaw. Excursion in town includes a small market and Malikha river bank. Return to Putao. We have our dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Putao Trekking House.

Day 05 Departure

Breakfast and transfer to airport, good bye to our team as you board on our onwards departure flight to conclude this unique experience.
